Privacy Policy

We at Korea Postal Service Agency (hereinafter referred to as the “Agency”) value our customers’ personal information and strictly comply with the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.

We hereby specify our Privacy Policy to clearly convey the purposes of the collection of personal information from individual users, how it is utilized, and what measures are taken to ensure privacy protection.

1. Personal Information Subject to Collection and Collection Channels
We collect the following types of information for member registration, product delivery, and counseling.
1) Member registration: Email, password
2) Counseling: Email, name, payment information, sender’s address, receiver’s address

2. Personal Information Collection Channels
Personal information is collected via website, bulletin, and email.

3. Purposes of the Collection of Personal Information
We collect personal information for the following purposes.
 - Implementation of agreements and provision of services for payments made pursuant to such agreements
1) Purchasing and payments
2) Product delivery
3) Financial services for financial transactions, etc.

4. Retention of Personal Information and Its Retention Period
In principle, we discard all collected personal information without delay after its purposes have been fulfilled. However, collected personal information shall be retained for a preset period of time for the following reasons (all personal information to be discarded after the completion of sales).
A. Legal Grounds for the Retention of Personal Information
- Records of agreement conclusion and subscription withdrawal

2) Period: 3 years
- Records of payments, provision of goods, etc.

- Records of the resolution of consumers’ complaints and disputes

5. Commissioning of Personal Information Processing
We commission personal information processing to the following outside specialists for our services.
A. (Purpose) Delivery / (Commissioned specialist): EMS
B. (Purpose) Payment system / (Commissioned specialist): Eximbay, Paypal

6. Personal Information Discard Process and Method
In principle, we immediately discard all collected personal information after its purposes have been fulfilled. The discard process and method are as follows.
A. Process
- Information entered for member registration, etc., shall be stored for the preset period of time pursuant to our internal policy and relevant laws (refer to 4. Retention of Personal Information and Its Retention Period) and discarded after its purposes have been fulfilled.
- The abovementioned personal information shall not be used for purposes other than those specified herein unless required otherwise by law.
B. Method
- Personal information stored in electronic form shall be permanently deleted through a non-restorable method.
- Personal information printed on paper shall be shredded or incinerated.
7. Disclosure of Personal Information
We shall not disclose the personal information of users except for the following cases.
A. Users’ prior consent has been obtained.
B. The disclosure of personal information is required by law or an investigation agency pursuant to predefined legal procedures.
     
8. Rights and Obligations of Personal Information Owners and Their Execution
A. Personal information owners are entitled to the following rights. Legal representatives of children under 14 may request access to and the modification, deletion, and processing suspension of the personal information of the children they represent.
B. Personal information owners may request access to their personal information files retained by our website pursuant to Article 35 (Access to Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act. However, access to personal information may be limited or denied in the following cases pursuant to Article 35 (4) of the same Act.
1) Access is prohibited or limited by law.
2) Access may cause damage to the life or body of a third party or unjustified infringement on the property or other interests of a third party.
3) Access may incur grave difficulties for public institutions to execute any of the following tasks:
- Imposition, collection, or refund of taxes; and
- Audits, examinations, or investigations being conducted pursuant to other Acts.
C. Personal information owners may request the modification and deletion of the personal information files retained by our website pursuant to Article 36 (Rectification or Erasure of Personal Information) of the same Act, provided that the personal information is not specified as information subject to collection by other Acts.
D. Processing suspension for the personal information files retained by our website may be requested pursuant to Article 37 (Suspension of Processing of Personal Information) of the same Act. However, such requests may be denied pursuant to Article 37 (2) of the same Act.

9. Installation and Operation of the Automatic Personal Information Collection System and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection
We operate cookies to store and utilize users’ information. Cookies are small text files transmitted to each user’s browser by our website server and stored in the user’s hard disk. Cookies are used for the following purposes.
A. Cookies analyze the access or visit frequency of members and non-members.
B. Users can either accept or reject the installation of cookies. They are given the choices of accepting all cookies, providing approval every time cookies are stored, or rejecting all cookies.
C. Users can adjust the setting to accept all cookies, provide approval every time cookies are stored, or reject all cookies by accessing “Settings” on their web browsers.

10. Complaints and Inquiries on Privacy Protection
We have designated the privacy protection manager and working-level staff as follows to ensure privacy protection and promptly resolve complaints and inquiries related to personal information.

11. Notification
We will notify any revisions to the Privacy Policy by posting them under “Notifications” on our website or by sending notifications to individual users.
  - This Privacy Policy shall take effect on May 26, 2023.
